About Defraggler

The default disk defragmenter built into the Windows operating system is pretty good, but if "pretty good" won't cut it and you want something that is properly good, then you need to get Piriform's Defraggler. It is a great replacement for the Windows disk defragmenter and an exceptional defragging program overall. You can use it to defrag hard drives, folders, and files.

From Defraggler's interface, you can analyze any drive you want and you can manually initiate a Quick or a Standard Defrag job. The Quick Defrag completes faster, but the Standard Defrag job properly addresses fragmentation issues. If you don't want to manually initiate a defrag job, you can schedule it to run automatically. And if you can't wait around the PC to wait for the defrag job to complete, you can set it so Defraggler will shut down your PC when it's done.

Besides defragging drives, Defraggler can also defrag folders, files, and free space. Other defragging programs are limited to drives. Defraggler is not!

Defraggler Features

Analyze and defrag drives

Select a drive and let Defraggler analyze it for fragmentation. If the drive needs to be defragged, you can run a defrag job right then and there. If you don't have the time to do it right then and there, you can schedule a defrag job for later.

Defrag folders, files, free space

Most defragging programs can only defrag disk partitions. Defraggler can also defrag folders, files, and free space.

Windows Explorer integration

Defraggler can integrate with Windows Explorer, Microsoft's default file management tool. This means that Defraggler will show up in the right-click context menu. You'll be able to defrag a folder or a file just by right clicking it.

Benchmark drives

Defraggler has a feature that lets you benchmark your drives. By using it you can test a drive's read/write speed and thus determine if it is running as fast as it should be.

Health and other drive info

Defraggler displays information about a drive's health, temperature, serial number, buffer size, and more.
